Historic Districts within the City of Mobile
<DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"><DIV><DIV><P><SPAN>During the 1960s and 1970s the City of Mobile lost many of its historic buildings. The City recognized that this loss had serious repercussions for our community. The Mobile Historic Development Commission was formed to protect and enhance our historic resources. Since its founding in 1962, the MHDC has placed 7 districts in Mobile on the National Register of Historic Places. Each of these is protected by City Ordinances.</SPAN></P></DIV></DIV></DIV>
